In 1970 President Richard M. Nixon signed into law the Controlled Substance Act of 1970. This new law subjected all drugs to be under the jurisdiction of the Federal government and organized drugs into five Schedules. Prior to 1941 medical marijuana was used on a regular basis and even distributed from pharmaceuticals legally. Today marijuana has been reduced as a dangerous drug with no medical value.
